Unique copyrighted sculpture combines the iconographic Steinway Concert Grand silhouette, with a lyrical undulating profile. This sculpture simultaneously depicts the piano instrument and the musical sound waves it produces. Overhead view, we see a piano-shape; from the side view, we see the musical sound wave, with its sensual undulation. Like a cubist painting, we see two concepts from one view. The sculpture shape is futuristic, with an aerodynamic laminar flow. The base of the sculpture, corresponding to the keyboard is like the trailing edge of a wing on a supersonic fighter plane. It tapers to an ethereal edge where man’s fingers meet the dream machine. |
