“Homage à Steinway- Sonata” 6’ marble sculpture. Realized from a 10,000 pound slab of marble, this hand-made highly polished work of art was completed on September 18th 2008, the exact day Mr H.Z. Steinway died, age 93. Mr Steinway was a great grandson of the firm’s founder and was the last member of the family to work for the company. The “Homage à Steinway” sculpture series was begun several years ago as a tribute to the most celebrated name in music. All “Homage à Steinway” sculptures are hand-made originals.
